Life care plan – a dynamic document based upon published standards of practice, comprehensive assessment, data analysis and research, which provides an organized concise plan for current and future needs with associated costs, for individuals who have experienced catastrophic injury or have chronic health care needs.
Medical cost projections – an estimate of future medical needs/costs over a person’s lifetime, and priced at usual and customary rates or the applicable fee schedule. Projection based on available medical records.
Vocational expert – a professional with knowledge and expertise related to assessment, rehabilitation planning and employment, wage analysis and vocational issues related to injured workers. Services in this area can also include assessment of lost earning capacity as well as case consultation.
Vocational expert services can include:
- Comparing pre-injury to post-injury earning capacity.
- Determining lost earning capacity.
- Providing lost earning capacity to economist for further workup.
- Evaluation of wrongful death – determine likely future jobs and, therefore, lost future earnings.
- Evaluation of diminished earning capacity in those without an established earning capacity –using a reliable methodology which will meet the standards of Daubert.
- Reviewing opposing experts’ report.
- Case consultation – assistance in developing questions for opposing experts.
- Addressing vocational issues in the life care plan or as a separate report.
